Instructions

  1. Abstracts of up to 400 words should be submitted by e-mail, using the submission form provided, to the conference organising committee by the 15th May 2009.
  2. The author/presenter making the submission must provide the names and affiliations of all co-authors/co-presenters for each submission.
  3. Authors/presenters who are submitting for an oral presentation may also have their abstract considered for a poster session if it is not accepted. Please check the appropriate box on the submission form.
  4. Authors/presenters can make submissions to be considered only for the poster session. Please check the appropriate box on the submission form.
  5. If you submit an abstract for a workshop, presentation or a poster, you should do so with the understanding that you plan to attend SRE 2009.
  6. Presenters of posters will be expected to attend the scheduled poster session on the first day of the conference. Posters will then remain on display for the duration of the conference.
  7. Authors/presenters will be notified of the committee's decision by 19th June 2009.
  8. Authors/presenters are expected to cover their own registration, travel and accommodation costs. The Organising Committee is, however, seeking funds to provide support to a limited number of low income country participants.

Abstract preparation & submission

The programme of SRE 2009 will be built from the submissions of participants. Abstracts for presentations, posters and workshops are invited on all aspects of sex and relationships education. For organisational purposes, specific themes have been identified, including an open theme for those abstracts which do not appear to fit under any of the predefined headings. Committee members will select the programme on the basis of the relevance and merits of the abstracts submitted.

Themes

Publication of abstracts and papers

The abstracts of selected presentations, posters and workshops will be published in the SRE 2009 Book of Abstracts which will be distributed to all participants at the conference, it will also be made available online.

Following the conference, presenters will have the opportunity to submit completed papers for publication in a special edition of Sex Education: Sexuality, Society and Learning.
